Lincoln Sky Knights Membership Form: LSK Club Application.pdf

Are you new to RC Aircraft and don't know where to start? Check out our Novice RC Guide in Getting Started.

Why join the Lincoln Sky Knights? If you are an existing pilot, you already know the benefits of belonging to a RC club. But if you are a new pilot, it may not be obvious why you should join a RC club.

Peer Support & Friends - What better way is there to experience your hobby than with others? You'll meet a lot of nice and interesting people at LSK, all willing to help you get started.

Most self taught pilots crash... on their first flight. It's sad, but true. There are a very few self taught pilots. Most pilots who taught themselves will tell you that if they had it to do over again, they would have found help. LSK has many experienced members that are willing to help new pilots with everything from plane setup to pilot lessons... for FREE! Don't be embarrassed to ask for help... we all started at the same place.

LSK offers a great place to fly. We have very few obstacles for about 1/2 mile in all directions. We offer a paved runway, a grass runway, pond for float planes, ample pit area, parking, rest rooms, sun shelters, and a club house with fridge, microwave and grill. Everything you need for a great day of flying!

LSK sponsors events you can participate in or attend. Every year, LSK sponsors for-fun and competitive events. There is a little something for everyone. The events run year round, but most are during the more pleasant months in Nebraska.

You can't just fly anywhere. The city of Lincoln has laws against flying RC aircraft in city parks, etc. Models, even the small ones, take a lot of room to fly and are potentially dangerous. LSK's site offers a safe, insured flying site with a half square mile of obstacle free over-fly.

What else do you get with LSK membership? With membership you'll get a fun and informative monthly newsletter, access to our many flying events from fun-flys to competitions like Combat, Scale and Aerobatics, and you'll meet some really nice people! Odds are you'll make some great lifetime friends!

What is the AMA? LSK is a chartered AMA club which means you must be a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) to join us.  The AMA is a national non-profit organization that's sole purpose is to support the model aviation hobby/sport.  The AMA helps ensure that flying sites remain open, lobbys the FCC to keep our RC frequencies out of commercial use, promotes the hobby to the general public, etc.  With AMA membership you will also receive a very nice monthly magazine.  Perhaps the most well known benefit of AMA membership is that AMA members are covered by secondary liability insurance when flying models. Check out the AMA membership manual

Not sure if you are ready to join? Why not stop by and see for your self what we have to offer? Spectators are welcome at anytime (LSK member must be present.) You can find a map to the flying site by following this link: Map to Flying Site. The best times to find members using our site is on evenings and weekends when it is sunny, warm, and the winds are low to moderate. Stop on by, we'd love to meet you!

How do I join?  Simply download, fill out and mail in the forms listed below.  If you have any questions contact a board member.  You can also visit the AMA web site for additional information pertaining AMA membership.
